Mr. Jerome Howard , a native of Gray , LA , and has over 33 years of experience in the music arena. Jerome began playing the drums at the age of 9. After receiving several awards and participating in several select honor bands and orchestras, Jerome received a music scholarship to Northwestern State University (Natchitoches,LA) and McNeese State University (Lake Charles, LA ) He also studied and is well versed in many of the various areas of the music field.
Jerome has played the drums for the University Jazz Ensemble, Marching band, percussion ensemble and the gospel choir. He traveled abroad with the McNeese State University Jazz Ensemble and performed at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland .
God gifted Jerome with the ability to write songs and he was featured on “The Bobby Jones Gospel Show”. He was also the featured keyboard player for several choirs at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
In 1989, Jerome took an interest in the organ and began playing for several churches. Mr. Howard has served in many various muisc positions:
- Music Producer
- Wrote the music score for an independent film titled, “The Least Of These”.
- Released his first self-titled CD with the group, “Jerome Howard and the Body of Christ”.
- His song, “Too Close” was featured on the Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts Seminar CD titled “All The Angels”
Jerome has performed in concert as the opening act for several artists which include; Al Green, Shirley Caesar and Raymond Myles. He has also worked with other recording artists such as; David Curry (Mississippi Mass Choir), Bryan Wilson, Rev. Charles Nix and Timothy Britton.
Jerome and Charita married in 2003 and currently reside in Allen , TX . Together, God has blessed them with 4 children (Faith, Adrienne, Sheridan and Danielle).
God has given them the vision to pursue their music ministry career under their newly formed company “ Our Time Productions”. Through this venture, they are certain that God will continue to use them to be a vessel to minister to those who are lost.
In Ecclesiastes 3:1, the word of God says, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven”. It is through this word, that the Jerome and Charita have declared, “This is our time”.
